This post will show you how to display date and time in redhat linux 7. The timedatectl utility is disseminated as a part of the systemd system and service manager, which will permit you to review and alter the configuration of the system clock. Also, it will allow to use this tool to change the existing date and time and to set the time zone, or to modify an automatic synchronization of the system clock with a remote system.
Displaying the Present Date and Time
There is no additional command line options required to use timedatectl command, to display the present date and time along with more information regard to the configuration of the server and hardware clock. Normally, it will display the universal (UT) and local time , present time zone, present status of the NTP and extra data associated with DST.
