In order to submit the job in Oracle Sun Grid Engine, use the following syntax:
# qsub -l q=<queue name> -l <queue name>=true <path to executable/script>
# qsub -l high.q -l high=true /opt/gridengine/examples/jobs/simple.sh
Note: The use of <queue name>=true can be used to determine eligibility for job submission to that queue. In the example above it is set statically, but its boolean value can be determined at runtime within a wrapper script.
The single exception to this command line syntax is that normal.q, which does not require the force requestable parameter on the command line:
# qsub -l q=normal.q /opt/gridengine/examples/jobs/simple.sh
Execute the below command to check the status of the job.
To check complete status of the job which includes if jobs in error state the error reason also displayed if you execute the below command.
#qstat -j <job-id>
